Shipwreck Certification

3 posts in this topic

A coin I sent for grading came back with AU Details - Saltwater Damage.

It is a sign of a shipwreck coin. I had googled this coin, and found a same coin from a reputable dealer carries a NGC shipwreck label.

I would like to re-grade my coin for shipwreck certification. May I know what type of documentations I need to provide to NGC? Is an invoice and write-up by the dealer I purchased from sufficient?

Many thanks

Thanks for your question. We would require documentation from the salvage company identifying the coin as part of that particular shipwreck.

I supplied copies of the documentation. Do you require the original COA certifications? More information on submitting Shipwrecked coin is needed on your website. It is very vague and

nothing exists on the applications.
