toning on 1986 ngc silver eagle - ms69

2 posts in this topic

I have several complete sets of silver eagles that have been rated ms69 by NGC and encapsulated in slabs. I have noticed on a couple of the 1986's that there is some darkening on the edge of the coin. Is this typical? If so/not, does it effect the value of the coins/sets?

Hi,

Under our grade guarantee, if the toning is unmarketable or renders the coin a lesser grade upon appearance review, we will either find a suitable replacement piece or pay the difference between the current fair market value of the coin at the newly established grade and the current fair market value of the grade originally assigned to such coin.
