Assistance, please, identifying an ancient

Greetings to all,

I'm new here and this is my first post. I have immersed myself in researching what it is I have acquired. All Greek to me these terms...denarius, sestertius and tetradrachms. Perhaps the collective knowledge out there could help me with this one? As a newbie identifying coins is exhausting.

Any information would be most appreciated! It was suggested that I try posting on this thread. Other advice happily accepted.

Hi there,

I cannot say much about the authenticity of this coin - it definitely states Syracuse as place of minting and maybe a drachme minted around 300 B.C.

If you want to identify the specific type, I would suggest to search upcoming and past auctions - or simply submit the coin to NGC. If the coin was genuine, it is certainly worth the effort.

Best,

Christopher
