Walters Breen's Complete Encyclopedia and Larry Brigg's Seated 25¢ - Both Sold

5 posts in this topic

For sale today are two scarce and highly important numismatic "encyclopedias".

Walter Breen's Complete Encyclopedia of U.S. and Colonial Coins. Published in 1988 with over 4,000 illustrations on 768 pages.

Long considered the best attempt to cover the entirety of American coinage, Walter Breen's Encyclopedia is truly a numismatic masterpiece. As a testament to this fact, in numerous forum threads, multiple numismatists have marked this book as the one they would take with them to a deserted island. For those who cannot afford or do not desire a bookcase of books and catalogs, you can purchase this book and rest assured that there is no area of American coinage in which you will be without information. Indeed, even those numismatists with a bookcase, or room, full of literature, often begin their research in the pages of Breen's Encyclopedia. This example is in excellent condition, with clean pages, free of stains, marks, or bends, and a dust cover/boards with only light signs of shelfwear. $SOLD

The Comprehensive Encyclopedia of US Liberty Seated Quarters by Larry Briggs.

The single best resource available in the field of Seated Quarters. This book includes identifying characteristics for die marriages, along with comments on rarity, strike and more for each individual date and mintmark. This book has become very difficult to find in recent years and the few that do appear are quickly snapped up. Bright covers, a clean, unmarked interior, and tight binding. Only held back from 'like new' status by some shelfwear on the bottom of the spine, and a few tiny, trivial white spots on the cover where the color has chipped(?) off. - $SOLD
