Small Estate Sale Find

7 posts in this topic

Was out running errands this morning and saw a sign for an estate sale. They had various coins, most 90% silver and some US Mint Philippines coins. The people holding the sale had them all priced a little over melt, but I told them the $3 was worth more. I gave them an offer and they happily accepted. They took my contact information as they come across coins frequently and will call me for first shot. The $3 is an 1855 and looks AU to me. The 1921 Morgan is about MS63/64. I paid enough that it was fair for them, and that I had enough of a cushion to protect myself. Not bad for a stop in.

Shame on them for not doing any research before putting them out. They should have checked with several real dealers before selling.
