Grades Wanted

I have attached two coins 1882 CC and 1884 CC. The white area at the top and bottom of each photo was created by my lighting. One of the coins has a CAC green sticker and both coins are DMPL.

1882-CC: MS65 PL CAC

1884-CC: MS64 DPL

They look just like a couple of raw ones I sold a while back.

Nice!

5 and 4... which happens to be the exact same grades as the two guessers before me said... Maybe its the photos.... maybe its that they are "text book" for the grades.

Either way though... I drooled a little bit on my keyboard when I saw them!

82-cc 64+ to 65

84-cc 63++ to 64

both have really good eye appeal

it is hard to grade from photos but the above are my best guesstimates and in hand sight seen could be different

Yea, my drool cup runneth over! Same grades for me and I feel these were easy DMPL's as you already stated they were graded that way.

Below are the grades assigned from PCGS:

1882 CC MS 64 DMPL

1884 CC MS 64 DMPL CAC

I picked up the 1884 CC DMPL MS 64 in the Heritage Chicago auction a couple of weeks ago. When I got the 1884 CC, I compared the coin to the 1882 CC, and the 1882 CC was the better coin in hand as the 1882 CC looked a grade higher.

Thank you for your input and your grades confirmed the grades that I would have assigned to the coins. The 1882 CC looks as good or better in hand as the photo. I may submit it to CAC for certification but I sure would be disappointed if it did not get the green sticker.

Love DPL Morgans!

Nice ones Hack!

I would have graded the 82 one to two points higher than the 84. I've already read the posted results, but I would have guessed a 65 DPL for the 82 and a 62/63 for the 84.
