1984 Kennedy question

3 posts in this topic

I was looking at some of my coins and noticed a weird looking spot on my 1984 Kennedy. Does this look like a Struck Through error or is it something I would need conserved before grading. I Have attached 2 different views of the same spot. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Well, I was born in 1984, and I have the mint set this coin is part of in my safe and was considering getting them graded depending on how they would grade. I understand sometimes its better to buy already graded coins, in fact that's what I do for the modern coins I collect. However, if I happened to have a few that were a reasonably high grade, it could even out or I could do better than trying to find a good deal on the same grade.

In this case, if this was not possibly an error, I would defiantly not spend the money to have it graded, however my knowledge of errors v. environmental damage is not what I would like it to be yet so that's why I asked the question.
