FS: NGC & PCGS Certified Silver Roosevelt Dimes ~ One 5th Generation NGC Slab

1 post in this topic

These dimes are for sale here only for now. They'll be put on eBay if they don't sell here. But the prices here will be lower since I don't have to give eBaby a cut. I will ship any of these for free to anywhere in the U.S.

EDITED TO ADD: These have been put up for sale ATS.

1956-P

PCGS MS 66

Omaha Bank Hoard

Cert # 10631777

Asking $17

Bright white and full of luster with only very light toning, this dime has a great strike and details, however there are some very light hairlines on both sides. The vertical and upper band lines a clear and well defined, however the lower band line is barely visible. Contact marks are present but consistent with the grade. Overall, I think this coin grades on the upper end of MS 66.

1957-D

PCGS MS 66

Teich Family Collection

Cert # 24503278

Asking $23

This coin has a dull grayish tone that is typical for dimes from the Teich Family Collection. However, there are some light rainbow colors around the rim on both sides. In my opinion, none of the Roosevelt dimes from the Teich Family Collection that I've owned had good eye-appeal. But this is the best looking one I've ever owned or saw. It has a good strike and details on both sides, though the gray discoloration covers a lot of the features. The vertical and upper torch band lines are clear and defined, however the lower band line is barely present. Significant contact marks include a few on Roosevelt's cheek. But the biggest issue with this dime is the gray color.

1957-D

NGC MS 66 FT

Cert # 3684740-061

Asking $27

A bright satin white coin, this dime has some very small spots only visible under magnification. The coin has a good strike and fine details on both sides, but some light hairlines on both sides. Most of the torch lines are clear and well-defined. However the lower band line lacks a bit of depth. And this may threaten this dime's Full Torch designation. Light contact marks are present but consistent with the grade. Overall, this is a nice dime. However, its FT designation is questionable.

1959-P

NGC MS 67

Cert # 504043-030

5th Generation Slab

Asking $67

Wanna roll the dice? Then this is the dime for you. This coin is covered with a dark, spotty, mostly russet colored tone. There are some green blues colors around parts of the perimeter on both sides. However, the toning is below average in eye-appeal.

Nevertheless, the coin has a good strike on both sides, with very clear torch lines, which may grade FT or FB. There is a contact mark on the torch handle which may interrupt the continuity of the vertical lines. (seen in the photo below) It's a close call. As mentioned, this coin is encased in NGC's fifth generation of slabs, so it was graded before the company began FT designation. But I actually think this dime has a better chance of going PCGS' FB than NGC's FT considering the mark on the handle. NGC's book price on this one is $125. But I originally got a good deal on this coin, so I can let it go for $67

1959-P

NGC MS 66 FT

Cert # 1955439-012

Asking $32

This dime is bright white a full of luster on both sides with good eye-appeal. It has a great strike and details with no significant hairlines. Torch lines are all clear, well-defined, and uninterrupted. Very light contact marks are present on both sides, but overall I think this coin is appropriately graded. NGC's book price on this one is $75. But, like the 1959-P above, I originally got a really good deal on this coin, so I can let it go for $32.

1964-D

PCGS MS 66

Cert # 16201761

Asking $17

A bright white coin with great surfaces and luster. There are a few small spots on the obverse; the most noticeable being a black spot of what might be some kind of residue in front of Roosevelt's ear. Nevertheless, this dime has a really nice strike with great details and a near full torch lines.
