Lincoln cents no MM ?

3 posts in this topic

I checked out some articles on Lincoln cents and was confused to what I read, I will post it here. "In 1980 "P" was added to all remaining coins minted in Philadelphia except the Lincoln cent. The tradition of not placing MM on Lincoln cents continue to this day." While researching the Lincoln cents on other websites, I see MM beyond that date. Any explanation?

Thank you,

The tradition of not placing MM on Lincoln cents continue to this day.

I think the OP meant "...not placing the Philadelphia MM on Lincoln cents continue..." Current Philadelphia-minted cents do not have a P mintmark. But Denver- and San Fransisco-minted cents have the D and S mintmarks, respectively.
