Quartermaster Collection - Australian Sovereigns Auction

I watched two of the Quartermaster Collection - Australian Sovereigns, sell for far below the 2009 auction price.

 

1880 M Shield choice Unc. On the original auction card sold for $6,000 AUD. In 2009 it sold for $26,902 AUD

 

1887 M Shield choice Unc. On the original auction card sold for $16,500 AUD. In 2009 it sold for $27,430 AUD. Quartermaster listed it as probably the finest example, but the 2012/13 Bentley Collection offering a similar coin - stated on Par with Quartermaster, if not better sold for, if I remebre correctly, 7,000 pounds or about S12,948 AUD.

 

Very large losses for the owner.
