I bought this about 6 weeks ago. It has the mark in the right obverse field and on the eagles breast on the reverse. It may not seem so but the luster is just outstanding. Great "pop".

Might be the picture, but I'm going to guess AU-58+. There looks to be the slightest discoloration on the highest points, which I am going to interpret as the tiniest rub.

Mark, you're exactly right. I posted this same coin a few weeks ago, commented in the thread near the end and had no recollection of it at all.

Don't know. He had said he was sending it in for grading, and said he bought it about 6 weeks ago, so I naturally assumed he was going to unveil a TPG assigned grade.

 

Does not look as though that is going to happen.

The coin is going to be part of my next submission. I was trying to determine through your input if that was even something to consider. I'm bothered by the marks and really don't think it's worth it but if it returns an MS64 (or better) I won't lose anything. I think it's an MS 63 myself.

 

If/when it comes back I'll post the results.

I think that it will probably make MS-64 with an outside shot at MS-65. It has a few too many marks to be "a lock" MS-65.
