It actually looks acurately graded, too! That's a big feat in today's market. I've seen PCGS F-12's that looked worse.

Thanks for the compliment, I too have seen many 16-D`s graded higher by other services, but with less detail than this one has. I would post a link, but I`m afraid I`m not as computer literate as I`d like to be. But my listing is fairly easy to find. It`s the only NGC VG-10 1916-D Merc listed on eBay.

This is an extremely solid coin. It would fit perfectly with my set of Mercs that I have housed in a Dansco album but I just can't bring myself to pay what the market is now bringing.

 

In today's market, that is a $2000 coin.

p.s. How long ago did NGC slab this coin? Just curious to see if it was before the market grading for key dates kicked in.

Actually, It`s been only about two weeks. I felt NGC was fair and that it was accurately graded.
