Error/Variety plus

2 posts in this topic

Hi Max, I have a 1960 small date lincoln cent, I know this coin is a Variety Plus coin. My question is, this coin has a die crack from the rim above lincoln head through his body to the bottom rim could this coin also be labeled Error/Variety Plus on one label or just one label variation only.

Thank Don

Cracks are considered a fairly normal part of a die's lifespan and are not recognized as varieties in themselves. A few of the more spectacularly shattered dies are recognized by NGC, but the one you're describing would not be singled out beyond whatever variety already exists in the die as made.
