Can anyone convince me that this is not RPM?

Ok Jason, you convinced me. ;)

 

Always nice to have a second opinion. I was leaning toward PMD or MD also but wanted to rule it out before it goes in the change jar.

No, that was all that was abnormal on that coin.

 

I checked Variety Vista, NGC, Coin Explorer, and Variety Plus, and PCGS and none of those sources listed a RPM for that year of a Washington Quarter. I also believe the year (1996) was a date after Roger and others were talking about sometime in the 80's, the MM was placed on the die and no longer punched.

 

I was hoping I was wrong and I had found something profound. hm
