2008 britannia 50p proof error (un finished edges pics within)

I bought this coin well over a year ago and the other day decided to take it out of its capsule for a closer inspection. When I removed i realised it has very sharp and un-polished edges. I wonder if anyone's had experience of this. The royal mint have washed their hands of it. My reply from them just told me that there is no record of any such problem and that I should ask my retailer.

I'd be holding that with something other than my fingertips if it were me. Plastic cointongs, or those little leprechaun condoms, something like that.

They are a very inexpensive item. Surely a UK numismatic mail-order supply shop has them, and you should not have to go to Fleabay. They are these: Coin tongs. Probably cost L2, maybe less.
