1 Unopened Roll of 20 2014 American Silver Eagles

1723 Wood's Hibernia Halfpenny - Martin 4.15-Gc.37a Die Marriage. The die cracks on the obverse easily identify this die. The reverse can be identified by the 'double stop' (two dots) after the date which resulted from polishing out cracks that had formed in the die. Later states only have the one stop. An excellent UNC example that will be a much needed upgrade to an existing Hibernia (different die marriage) which is barely AG with corrosion. This coin, which was reportedly used very often as coinage in early colonial America, does not suffer from any of the previous mentioned problems. I acknowledge a few identifiable imperfections that distract from the overall eye appeal in the very least yet the deep rich chocolate color makes this piece especially appealing.

1763 Holland 2 Stuivers Silver - A raw example that has definitely seen much circulation, yet remains a nice piece none the less. These were used pre Revolutionary War in Colonial America, to a lesser extent than that of Spanish coinage. Still, it remains a very important part of our nations history and the circulated state only adds to the imaginative nature of this coin. At 19.6mm diameter and a paltry 1.6g weight, this piece is very thin, however this piece has not suffered from the common occurrence of bent or distorted examples.

1783 Half Reale - This coin was one of the many found when the location of the treasure that remained from the shipwreck of the 'El Cazador' was brought to the surface and subsequently preserved. This ships contents had remained on the oceans floor, more than 300 feet below, for 210 years. The ship had initially set sail from the Mexican mint, Vera Cruz, destined for the port of New Orleans. Spain's King Carlos III had ordered the ship to sail with it's contents of some 400,000 'Pieces of Eight'in order to shore up the economic troubles with the devaluation of paper money in New Orleans, the main port for shipments to and from the 'New World'. The ships demise was a major event of historical significance in American History, for if that ship had made it's final destination, the silver coinage would have shored up the monetary problems in New Orleans and Spain would have greatly strengthened it's position as a world power. Instead, the events weakened Spain's position and the land she held. Faced, once again with war (this time with France), Spain, now under the rule of King Carlos IV, ceded the land known as the Louisiana Territory to France and with that Napoleon would eventually sell the territory to the United States (Thomas Jefferson) and this allowed expansion of the country to the west. A major milestone in the history of the United States indeed.

1793 Sir Issac Newton Farthing - D&H Middlesex No: 1159 - Diameter 21mm - Listed in Bell's “Specious Tokens and those struck for General Circulation” as "SCARCE". Originally these were struck by shop owners in England to help solve the problem with limited circulating government issued currency. Very much the same way store card tokens and hard times tokens were struck privately in this country during adverse times of currency shortage due to hoarding of silver or gold government issued coinage.

Fauver-1330/1240k (gilt) and the rarity of a R-7 or possibly higher. It is an early gaming token and this particular one, as you can see, is a $20 Gold Double Eagle type. Struck in bronze/gilt. This one retains a very large portion of the gilt. These were struck in Nuremburg, Germany, as well as some being struck in San Francisco, by Ludwig Lauer in or about the 1850's and were used during the California Gold Rush in the 1850's and later in games of chance right along side gold and silver coins as well as gold dust and nuggets. Although the bronze version is very common, the gilt bronze version is much more scarce.

1853 Trime. This picture shows greater detail and slightly more luster than a previous photo I had posted of this coin. Although I have it listed as an AU, which is probably close to accurate if it were to grade details free at all, however, this series can be extremely hard to grade since often UNC examples can be found with parallel scratches from die preparation as well as a weak strike, which plagued this issue, can easily be mistaken for wear. You can never tell what a TPG might do. For that reason it remains raw.

1864 Lincoln 'Freedom' Civil War Token F-125/294a . This particular version is an Extremely Rare, R7. (10-19 known to exist) based upon the Fuld Rarity Scale. This piece is also a off center strike error as you can see from the photo, which adds another element of rarity to it. This has been graded MS64 BN by NGC in a problem free holder. A very nice example of a extremely rare die marriage. Now, after continue study and research, I have concluded that NGC did in fact correctly attribute this piece as a Late Die State 125/294a.
