stockholm coin museum

If you are ever in Stockholm, this place is amazing. Displays of thousands of 1000 year old silver Viking coins just piled on top of each other. Incredibly rare and valuable coins in somewhat hap-hazard displays. Large and the largest Scandinavian copper plate "coins" -- these things are huge! Even a few proof trade dollars along with other rare US coins.

A must see for any coin enthusiast should they be in Stockholm.

During the 19th century the US and foreign mints frequently exchanged sets of coins for their national museum collections and other purposes.

These are the pics I took of the trade dollars. Difficult to get a decent image, the glass was dirty and had a lot of glare. Anyway, here they are.
