Very rare Burma coin, but ????

3 posts in this topic

Pictures show very rare but good conditioning Burma copper coins. It is said in catalog that these coins were made in 1781. One is about 5 g and the other is about 10 g.

But black material surface looks unnatural and less genuine. Let me know your impression and comments.

Thanks.

Never heard of these coins. Are you asking if either look counterfeit?

If so, maybe but I consider the likelihood of a modern counterfeit for a coin like this one to be low. Even if it is rare, it is unlikely to be worth that much, most counterfeiters have probably never heard of it and there are almost certainly much better candidates for counterfeiting than either of them.

Are you sure the coins are corroded or suffered some other form of environmental damage??
