Very nice group of CBHs. I particularly like the 1813 O-108a. The Mike King example is also very sweet. And thanks for the correct attribution of the 1807 50/inverted 5. Too bad the TPGs and the general CBH collecting community don't wake up to an error so clearly proved by Edgar Sounder and others.

I think the educated CBH community, and the TPG's, understand and go along with the upside down 5. It's just one of those things that got off on the wrong foot and now it's too late.

 

If I remember right Souders didn't prove it. But he certainly helped publicize the finding.

Why were they put in new holders?

 

The older NGC holders were hiding the coins and some were scuffed as well. The plastic on the new holders is way better for seeing, and you can see the edge which is kinda key on these coins. Sometimes the edges can be interesting!

Agreed - there are many edge varieties yet to be discovered in other series - even stuff as modern as SG $10 and $20.
