I was told when I bought this that it was from the University of Chicago's Secret Women's Club, but have no other information (or proof that this is correct). Does anyone know anything else on this piece? Thanks!

Here is an image of a work by Peer Smed of New York. I find this dragon and yours similar in style - just coincidence perhaps. Peer Smed

 

 

Edited to add:

 

There was a decent size group of Welsh immigrants in Chicago and IL in general. On the national flag of Wales appears the Red Dragon. In Chicago there are a number of Welsh societies - the oldest (I think) is The Cambrian Benevolent Society.

 

I think your dragon token is a RED DRAGON with monogram W
