What is the best way to tell the wide rim variety from the norrow rim??

Well Jason that explains it very well! Thanks. I don't know why the red book lists the 1979 P wide rim at $11.00, and the 1979 P norrow rim at $2.00 in MS-63. It seems there are way to many wide rims in order to have this much of a price difference.

My technique (it's easy for me to remember, at least) is to look at whether an imaginary duplicate of the tail of the 9 would fit between the bottom of the 9 and the rim. The width of the tail would not fit on the wide rim, but it would on the narrow rim. Works for me when I don't have any photos to refer to.
