AU Details Genuine

Hi,

I have a 1879 cc in my registry set that is AU details and it received half the normal points. Which is fine; my 1879 mint set is not about points but I would love to be able to complete it. The New Orleans mint coins are just way out of my league money wise. I ran across a 1879-O $20 but it says its AU Details Genuine. Again I don't care about the points but will I be able to use it as a slot filler? I've seen Detail coins before but not Genuine. Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.

Thanks for the question. NGC assigns a Details grade to coins with surface conditions that preclude them from numerical grading. NGC rarely designates a coin as simply "Genuine" so perhaps you are referring to a different third-party grading company?
