Medals

2 posts in this topic

Hello,

I recently aquired the following medals and was told they were both Friedrich Wilhelm Leopold I. As the first might suggest...

I can't seem to find any other information or auction archives. Can someone confirm what I have and the possible market value on each?

Thanks

Rickie

The Medal at the ANS is indeed the one you have. I think they dropped the last C from MDCCXC; click the title for full description - "Date on Object: 1790"

I believe the medalist referenced is:

"T. S. Vide THEODOR STOCKMAR. Medallist and Engraver, Mint-warden at Gotha, 1779-1805 ; 'Mint-master at Dusseldorf, 1805-1818."

What is Landwirth?
