1846-O Seated Dollar

This is a tough one to grade, IMHO.

 

The reverse easily looks EF 40-45 to me. The obverse is the more important and difficult side to judge, however. Like Bill, I rate the obverse at VF-35, but could lean towards EF, since I don't see lots of abject wear on the high points.

 

It's my understanding that many 1846-O Seated Halves were weakly struck, so on a good day I could go with EF-40 for the obverse and the overall grade.

 

What the TPGs might think is another story.

VF-35, and I don't any reason why this piece would not get a clean grade in a certification holder.
