Planchet error on 1866 add value?

2 posts in this topic

I posted this coin below to another forum and someone who knows errors told me that it has a planchet error called a lamination peel. I was wondering about the dent, it looked like damage at first but then I noticed writing on the bottom of the dent which turned out to be the tail end of "America.". Does this error usually add to the value of the coin or does the coin just retain it's normal value?

It's a small lamination. You might get a little extra for it but it is a low grade so it wouldn't be much. In mint state I believe it would have fetched a decent premium.
