Looking for a 1890 CC GSA Holder graded MS63

3 posts in this topic

Good Morning-

I am always on the hunt for an improvement to my set and today I am looking for an upgrade for my 1890 Carson City Morgan GSA Holder issue. I currently have an MS62 and would like to go to the next level if I can swing a trade.

To trade I have (of course) the 1890 MS62 I am trying to replace and also 1883 and 1884 CC GSA's both in MS66.

I'm looking for an honest fair trade. No devaluing one side while puffing up the other, so any dealers should probably not even respond to this one if they are looking to make several hundred dollars on this deal. Not going to happen.

The coins are nice. The pictures don't do them justice and I will try to shoot some better angles for interested parties.

Thanks for looking!

Bo

Hey #- Actually the 83 and 84 CC's I have in 66 aren't as rare as the MS65DPL's that are in my set now. The links I have are from two sets.

There are a couple sets out there that could be helped with this potential trade. I hope several people at least reach out to me.

The book on a 1890 MS63 is $5530 and the total book on the three coins I have to trade are $5310. I would be willing to make up the difference.

One area you may wish to investigate is going a grade lower in a DPL. They are more scarce than a straight MS66 and a way to better your registry set without dumping a ton on the MS67's which are insanely expensive.

The trick is getting them now because a year from now most of the coins we talk about will be out of the common man's reach. I hear what you are saying about the 1890 you bought for 2850. I purchased my 1885 MS66 for $2700 about a year ago. It's nuts.

That's why I am trying to go straight trade with another collector. They can help me and the coins I have could help them. I am going to search through registry sets this weekend and reach out to a few people if I don't get any responses.

This set is an obsession for sure!
