opinions on grading

I have 2 1917 SLQ..One is Type 1 and other is Type 2...I want to get them graded..I have no idea on value because I don't know the grade yet. How do you know what to put when you submit?

I normally just put what I paid for the coin(s). The value is pretty much for insurance purposes only and the Post Office has never lost any of my coins.

Thank you but I guess I should have asked my question better. I want to submit to NGC for grading. Don't I have to know some value? I am new at this but I have a few coins that I would love to get graded including these SLQ's..

I'd post some pictures here and get some opinions first. It might save you a trip.

I may do that just to get opinions! I am pretty sure either way I want to get at least 2 coins graded anyhow. They were my fathers and I don't plan on getting rid of them. I would like to keep them safe and sound! Thanks!
