I Bought the Slab Instead of the Coin! posted by NAS Fallon Firefighter

I have done this a few times before!

Hi everyone,

Once again I have purchased a coin based on the slab. This one was a 1998 Robert Kennedy Commemorative $1 graded MS-70. Because of the great price for the coin, I went with a coin in somewhat abused holder. It has many obvious scratches on the front and back and a small chip in the obverse near the label.

I do have a few more coins to send back to NGC for re-holdering along with this one and with the costs it still comes out as a good deal.

It's also nice to add to my modern commemorative collection again. This is the first coin since the beginning of the year.

Take care and Happy Thanksgiving!

Nice Coin Jeffrey;

As you know you can always get it reslabbed if it is that noticable but I can't see any imperfections that stand out, but it is different when in hand. Anyway congrats on the great acquisition and have a great Thanksgiving.

Mike
