Hoot
Okay, I provided the answer to the first part of this one on another thread and asked the follow-on questions. But here the questions can have a good "clean" start... 1) What was the most prolifically counterfeited coin (single date) of the 20th century? 2) One man is responsible... can you name him? 3) Can you name the year he "made his fortune" and how many he made? EVillageProwler
The coin is the 1944 Jeff 5c. That's all I know 'cuz that's all you wrote in that other thread... EVP
Hoot
Well I suppose the time and interest are up on this one. The answers: 1) What was the most prolifically counterfeited coin (single date) of the 20th century? EVP is correct - the Jefferson nickel of 1944. 2) One man is responsible... can you name him? Francis Henning. 3) Can you name the year he "made his fortune" and how many he made? He decided to make all of his nickels in 1954 (10 year anniversary?), and he made a bunch - 300,000 (that's 15 grand in nickels)! I reckon he wasn't too interested in staying anonymous!
