Responses to questions about JNR

1 post in this topic

Several questions have been received about JRN publication dates, content, etc. This seems like a good place to provide answers.

Q: Is JNR a monthly publication?

A: No. The plan is to publish quarterly, but not to any fixed dates.

Q: Are all issue going to be the same price?

A: No. The cover price is based on the cost of assembling, editing and printing. Some issues might cost more or less than the Autumn 2012 edition.

Q: What will be in the next issue?

A: Upcoming issues will focus on, in no particular order: 1) James Barkley’s coinage proposals and experiments; 2) Inventions and innovations of Franklin Peale for the U.S. Mint; 3) the real model for the Morgan dollar; 4) Smuggling gold from Manila in 1942; 5) American monetary policy at the time of the Great Depression, and several others.

Q: Can I purchase an annual subscription?

A: JNR is available as individually priced issues rather than a fixed subscription. This lets readers buy only what they want.

Q: How long will each issue be on sale?

A: New printed copies will be available in print until the press run is exhausted. Electronic (PDF) copies will be available for an indefinite period of time. All issues include a unique ISBN number to facilitate locating copies into the foreseeable future.

That seems to cover the initial questions.

Thanks!
