I have a jefferson nickel with the designation 5FS, yet the price guide lists MS and MS6FS. Is this just marketing, or does the 5FS carry a premium? I would think if NGC saw fit to list the 5FS on the label it should have a price guide also, much like the FT designation for dimes. They don't have a 3/4 full torch.

Specifically what year, mint mark, and grade is it? There are several people here who can help you with reasonable estimates of value. That, or you could check auction sites like HA or Teletrade and see what the coin in 5FS is selling for.

Well, the market and actual sales on eBay suggests that a 1958-D MS66 5FS sold for around $20 with shipping (Link here).

 

One in MS66 6FS sold for $29 including free shipping (Link here).

 

These were both $0.99 auctions, and they were both within the past 3-4 weeks.
