1959-D Franklin Half MS66 W

A question open to this forum. I was looking at a coin, a Franklin Half Dollar (1959-D MS66 W). What does the W stand for?

For a fairly brief time, NGC used the "W" designation on color-free (white) coins.

The "W" (white) and "T" (toned) designations were used by NGC from very early in 2000 through until they were discontinued on August 1, 2002.
