I have a love/hate relationship with this series dooly, in other words, I don't have a clue! I really love the series, but with the weak strikes and all i'm at a loss when it comes to grading. I "think" I have a leg up on most collectors when it comes to Shields, but than again I start to second guess myself in the end.

Your coin has great detail, nice strike IMHO but cleaned sometime in the past?

AU detail?

It has not been cleaned, and it is very well struck for the design, but a couple of inactive corrosion spots on the bottom right side of the obverse and tiny one at 10k on the reverse knock about 10 points off the technical grade. In other words, EF-40 net grades to VF-30.
