Early Release

2 posts in this topic

Hello,

I have one 2007 and one 2008 First spouse gold coin in US Mint sealed box. These are delivered within the first 30 days of issue (as per the UPS dates on the sealed box).

Question:

1) Would I be able to send it to NGC for First Spouse ER label if send it sealed?

2) If not - Is there any reason I should send it in sealed box still?

Thanks,

vk

Thanks for the question. In order to receive the Early Releases designation the coins would have to be delivered to NGC within the first 30 days of their release. The 2007 and 2008 First Spouse coins would not be eligible for the Early Releases designation. There is no reason to send them in the sealed box. If you'd like, you can send them in the Mint capsules and we will remove them at no charge. There is, however, a small surcharge if you would like the capsules returned.
