On the date of this FE, at the bottom right side of the 1 dose it look like something is wrong with it?

Maybe a variety of some sort?

It's really impossible to tell from an image that small, and it would usually be difficult anyway with a scan. If it would further your plight, I can take good microscopic photographs. Let me know if you might be interested.

I'm just interested in FE & IH's, and was looking at this on a yahoo auction.

I tried to enlarge photo but being not the expert still couldn't tell, was just asking someone who might know.

I checked his home page and the coin is a different shade.

Well, to tell the truth, my opinion is that there doesn't appear to be anything going on with the date on that coin, but then again, it's really not possible to tell for sure. Only something obvious would stand out in that scan...unfortunately. If you do happen to end up buying the coin, it would make a perfect candidate for good photos - it does look like a nice coin.
