Can someone explainI machine doubling?

I'm not very educated on DD varieties......

Nick

Machine doubling is where the die double stamps the planchet, or jerks/shifts when striking.

A true doubled die is created when the hub creating the actual DIE stamps the DIE twice.

Does this answer your question Keenoooo? :)

Your coin has die erosion doubling, not strike doubling. As the die steel wears, all peripheral features are drawn toward the edge, and this is transferred to the coins struck from the worn die.

Thanks to all posting replies, I was not truly familiar with die erosion doubling and appreciate the education.
