Roosevelt Dime Doubling question?

4 posts in this topic

I have this Roosevelt Dime that I wondered about the doubling present on the reverse.

Is it just machine doubliing or something else. Also, the mint mark looks strange. I

would appreciate your opinions.

Thanks

Jim

I don't see too much wrong with the mint mark, the lower serif is bulbous and the top serf is the flat face type,

there is a bit of bridging going on there with the top serif, maybe it was clogged with a bit of debris or maybe

even a minute die chip. It just looks a little weird, but nothing really out of the ordinary.

The hub doubling I do not see, if it is a true DDR it is very minute in nature.

It is hard to tell from pics. I do see possible doubling on the bottom of the letters. I am going to say IMO maybe it is strike doubling?

If anything, try checking the NGC variety guide. That might have this dime listed but I am not sure.
