Something is wrong. They say they have him saying it was dug up two years ago. They also say he bought it in 2001 so that would be eight years before he says it was dug up. Other reports have the two coins having pedigrees that trace back to the 1960's. These can't all be true.

My understanding is that when he put it in to the sale he made up the provenance of having bought in in 2001. But then he told an undercover agent he knew that the 2 coins had really just been dug up recently.
