$1 fee for opening coins

Thanks for the question. Yes, you would be charged the $1 per coin fee if you submit them in sealed flips. It is necessary for graders to examine coins outside of flips or capsules, so your flips would have to be opened and the coins placed in new flips. The additional time/flips required is the reason for the $1 per coin fee.

 

If you are having a Redfield coin holdered in its original case (i.e. "banded"), you will not be charged a $1 fee. Similarly, if you want a Redfield coin cracked out and put in an NGC holder, you will not be charged a fee. You may also submit coins in original Mint packaging at no additional charge.
