1899 IHC Grade Revealed

She's in an old no-line fattie graded MS63RB. Sold by Heritage as a BN, which is now the correct designation.

 

Eye appeal and color are better in-hand and this old holder is in amazing shape too. :grin:

MS64 BN

 

I think the coin has clean surfaces, but the strike is not as strong as the gems that I have seen for the date. Also, with regards to color, I would personally call the coin brown although I have seen similar coins in RB holders. The TPGs have been wildly inconsistent with this designation and a number have toned in the holders as well. To me the coin is truly deserving of the brown designation.
