1855-O SLH Updated w/in-hand images

8 posts in this topic

Recently picked up this 1855-O Arrows SLH with proceeds from my 2011 ASE set sales. These are the seller's images, should be in-hand this weekend.

She's a bit "whiter" than I prefer 150 year old silver but the price was right. What do you think? Comments welcome.

Update: Much nicer in-hand than the Heritiage images. Some toning/color/luster is evident. Clearly dipped but nice nonetheless.

Grade in final post.

Hi all, (Newbie)

How can you tell it's dipped?

With this piece it's a 156 year old silver that is far whiter than nature would have allowed.

A light cleaning, seen as hairlines in the obverse fields, and dipping due to the overall color makes it obvious.

The Heritage images did it no favors however. It is nicer in-hand. (thumbs u
