Spotty 1964 Roosevelt Dime NGC MS67 FT

2 posts in this topic

I've got a NGC MS67 FT 1964 Roosevelt Silver Dime that is tarnished (spotty) on the obverse. The reverse is fine. Since the tarnish does not enhance this coin I'd very much like to have it removed as long as there is a good chance the grade will remain the same. So what are my chances?

It is best to actually see a coin in order to give an accurate evaluation on any potential conservation. Based on coins that look similar, we likely could remove the spotty toning on this Dime. In order to determine for certain, however, we would have to see the coin in person. Since the coin is already graded it will also be evaluated to determine if the currently stated grade will at least be maintained through the conservation process. If there is a perceived risk that the grade may not maintain, the coin will not be conserved.
