A couple of Talers back from NGC

[Taler Universe]

Slight dissapointment with the 1789-A I thought it had more in it, probably the toning threw it off somewhat. The 1711 missed the MS target probably due to scuff on obverse. Overall pleased

Both are very nice and I think the 1711 deserves at least a MS60. The strike and details are amazing and the scuff doesn't bother me.

Wow ... simply gorgeous coins! The ysure don't put the detail in them like that anymore.

I think that 1711 should be in an MS63 holder. The flatness in the curls is because of incomplete strike, and that "scuff" is hardly a sign of circulation. Though, I can't see it in hand -- I'm not seeing the AU designation. BUT, I will also say that most AU58 coins are much more attractive than MS60-62 coins in hand, and most MS63 coins.
