Registry Values: 1950's Proof's

6 posts in this topic

I have a 1957 Proof Registry Set. It's my birth year. I have a concern that a non cameo coin, regardless of grade, has more value than one that is graded cameo. Am I alone here in my thought process?

I own a PF68 Cameo Franklin Half. It's worth less points than a PF69 non cameo Franklin Half. That just doesn't seem right to me.

Hi Leeg,

Regarding the scores for the 1957 PF Cameo Franklin Half Dollars in the 1957 Proof Set; the scores for the 1957 PFCA have been updated and they are now higher than the regular 1957 PF Franklin Half Dollar. Thank you for pointing this matter out to us. Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.

Jerica,

I checked the points after you stated a correction had been made. I found that a PF69, non cameo, Franklin half has more points than a PF68 Cameo Franklin half. That was my intial concern and it doesn't look like it got corrected.

Thanks for any and all responses! :)

This may not be the correct area for this question, but I will throw it out anyway. Why is it that the Registry under competitive collections recognizes the 1960 small and large date penny, however, the 1956 Type I and II halves are not differentiated (they are when graded)? Similarly, the 1964 half accented hair versus regular half.
