second 1966 DDR cent discovered

15 posts in this topic

New double dies are being found all the time, even rather significant ones. Case in point - my DDR-005 1951 Franklin is as strongly doubled as any coin you'll see (far more strongly doubled than the coin in the link), but it wasn't discovered until I found it a couple years ago.

Great news but sometimes these ddos take a microscope to see the doubling. This is why I love the 55ddo.

Physicsfan can you post a pic of.your 51 Franklin?

On my crude pictures, it shows up at the bottom of the bell. There is a second image all the way across. In hand, the knocker, bell, bell lines, and even parts of the eagle are doubled.

The doubling looks kind of crusty to me.
