1998 doubled Kennedy "D"

 

A short time after showing my discovery of the Kennedy with three extra "D" strikes between the 9 and 9 and doubling of the date and doubling of "IN GOD WE TRUST" the half dollar was switched with a clean coin. A quick examination with my 10 loupe of all 5 of my sets found no trace of the crown jewel of my meager collection. This was at the end of August. Just this week (9/18) I realized this same scenario was a repeat of my early spring discovery of my 1964 Quarter that was a transposition error, yet when I took it in to a local (Oswego, IL) shop it was miraculously changed back to silver. I thought I had just hallucinated the copper sandwich appearing on the edges, but now another thought occurs to me...

Iv'e been betrayed by am acquaintance twice. Stupid me...
