i just read a VERY interesting article written by RWB.............

...in the august 8th issue of coin world. it was titled "disappointed with

 

the mint". it talks about collectors that complained because they were

 

unable to buy new proof coins from the mint--------------------in 1909!!!!! i

 

thought it was VERY VERY GOOD!!!! i hope everyone has a chance to

 

check it out! it is a fine read! thank you roger! :applause:

things happening with the Mint in 1909. I really got a kick out of the

 

complaint of Giles Anderson and his correspondence with Treasury

 

Secretary Franklin MacVeagh. Very entertaining! I was shocked to see the

It is very unusual to have the internal mint comments regarding a citizen request. Normally, the internal discussions were verbal.

 

I tried to locate Mr. Anderson's descendants but was not able to.
