FS (Fivaz& Stanton) #s on NGC inserts

I was looking through a series where I had a number of duplicates of an overdate (1862/1 3CS). I noted one coin had the FS -007 designation noted; others not! When did NGC start doing this; Is it now routine?

NGC will add the designations if the submitter requests the attribution.

That attribution (variety +) request must also be accompanied by a $5 fee. It's worth it if you like varieties and if you don't want to get cherrypicked when you sell .

Thanks for the responses. The FS attribution was added when the coin was incorrectly slabbed as a 1862 and resubmitted by myself for correct attribution as a 62/1.

The Cherrypicker (FS) numbers have been used only since 1997. Before that time, 1862/1 trimes were labeled without the number.
