On NGC, this book is listed as a good reference for Braided Hair cent varities.

"John R. Grellman, Jr's book The Die Varieties of United States Large Cents 1840-1857"

Amazon has one listed for $250. Is there a spot to pick this up cheaper or is there a more comon book that I can get all this info? Cherry Pickers guide?

Thanks!

Tanman

Join the Early American Coppers Club or better stil contact Bob Grellman directly.

The phone number for the McCawley - Grellman company is (972) 668-1575.

I don't know if they are selling the book any cheaper because some these books have gotten to be expensive.

In the May 2011 issue of Penny-Wise, Bob Grellman lists this book for $100 postpaid. Contact him at 407-221-1654 or ljefferys@cfl.rr.com.

I have a copy, and certainly think that it is a book worth owning if you are interested in varieties of late-date large cents.
