1901 P Morgan VAM error?

3 posts in this topic

Hey guys-

I have to questions on this 1901 morgan. 1. there's some kinda sike going through the zero on the date, is that a VAM?

2. The field have a really weird satin-like look to them. I looked under a 20x loop for whiz hairlines and I couldn't find a whole lot, so I don't think it's b/c of that. Could it be die polish? or perhaps it was whizzed softly with something that gives off a satin-like effect?

take a look and let me know your thoughts.

Your photos are a little blurry, so it's hard to tell about the finish or the date. It looks like it might be a die gouge in the "0" of the date. I checked on VAMWorld, and there is no description that mentions a gouge, nor is there a photo of one. You should be aware that ALL Morgans are VAM's.
